Privacy Policy

Moving Box Index keeps moving records on your device. We do not operate an account system, advertising service, analytics service, or developer-operated server for the app.

Your moving records

Project names, box codes, rooms, notes, handling markers, checklists, statuses, photos, voice-to-text results, and optional space maps stay in the app’s local storage. The app does not upload this content to us. You choose if and where to share a CSV, PDF, family list, box card, or complete backup through Apple’s system interfaces; the selected destination may have its own privacy practices.

Photos, camera, and space maps

You can choose images through Apple’s system photo picker or use the camera to photograph a box. Camera access is also used when you start QR label scanning and, on supported devices, an optional RoomPlan space scan. QR scanning frames are not saved. RoomPlan models and selected photo copies remain in protected local storage unless you explicitly export or share them. A QR label contains format and local record identifiers plus its short code—not box notes or photos.

Microphone and speech recognition

If you choose Dictate note, Moving Box Index temporarily sends microphone audio to Apple’s system speech-recognition service to produce editable text. The app does not persist the audio or send it to a ThothForge server. Apple may process speech on the device or through Apple services depending on system availability, language, and device settings. The text is added to a box only after you choose to use it.

Backups and purchases

A complete .mbibackup package can include project records, photos, and space maps. You choose its Files or share-sheet destination, and restoring it creates a separate local project after integrity checks. This is not real-time sync. Lifetime Unlock is processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store payment-card details.

Retention, children, and changes

Records remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Exported files must be deleted from their chosen destination separately. The app is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. Material policy changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
