Privacy Policy

Aegis Line is a tower defense game for iPhone and Android published by ThothForge. No account is required and the game never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location. This policy explains what stays on your device, what is sent when you play online, and what happens if you choose to watch an ad.

Information stored on your device

Your progress, rank points, coins, items, hero loadout, settings, and the optional nickname and avatar you pick are saved in the app’s local storage on your device. ThothForge does not receive this profile. Deleting the app removes it; there is no cloud backup operated by ThothForge.

Online Match

When you start an Online Match, the app connects to a ThothForge match server hosted on Cloudflare. To pair players and limit daily use, the app sends a random device identifier that it generated on first launch (it is not your advertising identifier and is replaced if you clear the app’s data) and the game’s protocol version. During a match the server relays your in-game actions and the nickname, avatar, hero loadout, and rank you play with to your opponent; it does not keep the content of matches. The server keeps a daily count of matches per device identifier.

When an Online Match ends, the app sends a short match record: the random device identifier, a room identifier, the result and how the match ended, the wave reached, match length, remaining hearts, rank points, the heroes and oracles used, the app language, platform, and build. The server adds the time and the country or region code that Cloudflare derives from the connection. The record does not include your nickname, and ThothForge does not store your IP address. We use these records to understand how matches go and to balance the game. As with any internet service, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the connection.

Nearby Match

Nearby Match connects two devices directly over the local network or Bluetooth using the platform’s local connectivity features. Your nickname, avatar, loadout, and in-game actions are shared with the other device for the match. Nothing from a Nearby Match is sent to ThothForge.

Optional rewarded ads

Aegis Line shows an ad only when you tap a button to watch one in exchange for an in-game bonus. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested or shown, Google and its advertising partners may collect and use information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads, to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. On iPhone, the advertising identifier is available only if you allow tracking in the system prompt; you can change this in iOS Settings. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland the app asks for your consent choices before ads are requested, and you can reopen those choices from the app’s settings. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in system settings. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. If you never watch an ad, no ad is shown.

What we do not do

ThothForge does not sell personal information, does not use third-party analytics in Aegis Line, and does not combine match records with advertising data. Aegis Line is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Retention, your choices, and contact

Match records are kept only as long as they are useful for the purposes above and are then deleted or reduced to aggregate statistics. Because a record is tied only to a random identifier that the app does not display, we may be unable to find the records from your device; clearing the app’s data or reinstalling creates a new identifier. You can play the campaign, Vs. AI, Daily Trial, and Nearby Match without using Online Match or watching ads. Questions or requests: [email protected].
